Having grown up in Cape Town, South Africa, Claire’s love of the mountains, ocean and culturally bustling city has always encouraged her to explore more and venture afar.

After every local or overseas trip she went on, she always thought to herself, “How can I get back out there again?" That's why in 2017, she turned her passion and love of travel into a career, and she has never looked back.

In 2020, Claire took a leap and immigrated to London to expand her horizons. She has travelled extensively in the UK, Europe, Asia and, of course, Southern Africa, which is where her heart lies. She prides myself in planning trips for her clients from personal experiences, with passion, meticulous attention to detail and above all keeping their wants and needs at front of mind. She honestly feels that if one has the opportunity to travel they should jump at it!

WHAT RECOMMENDATIONS WOULD YOU GIVE A COUPLE LOOKING FOR A ROMANTIC GETAWAY?

Planning as a couple can be a really fun activity but expectations must be managed in regards to level of luxury, budget and the style and flow of the trip. Creating a travel bucket list together will allow you to decide on and plan your ultimate romantic getaway.

WHAT IS YOUR MOST MEMORABLE TRAVEL EXPERIENCE?

A two week self-drive trip through Namibia. We landed in capital, Windhoek, where we picked up a sturdy 4x4 vehicle and drove through diverse and ever-changing landscapes. Some highlights would include stargazing at &Beyond's Sossusvlei Desert Lodge, searching for desert-adapted elephants in Damaraland and birdwatching in Etosha.

WHAT’S IN YOUR CARRY-ON?

A good book, AirPods and a phone full road trip/ flight worthy songs.

WHICH DESTINATIONS DO YOU GO BACK TO AGAIN AND AGAIN?

• A safari in Southern Africa. Spectacular sights backed by incredible conservation efforts and such a rich cultural diversity. 

• A foodie and wine experience in San Sebastian, located in the European Basque Country. Eat, drink and explore to your heart's content! 

• The Royal Portfolio's Birkenhead House in Hermanus. In summer you're only a stone's throw away from the beach and during the winter months whale watching is a not to be missed.

HOW DO YOU PREPARE FOR YOUR OWN TRIPS?

With lots of planning to ensure that I make the most of the time that I have in each destination. This could mean jam-packed touring, outdoor activities or simply enjoying some R&R and spa time. I find Instagram to be a very handy tool to pick insider knowledge on each location. Being a foodie with a passion for wine I have visited some of the most amazing restaurants and bars on my trips all because I did some digging on social platforms.

Cocktails, sun, sea, sand and culture.
